Our NephCure Walk For Tater!

Today we headed about an hour from home and joined in our local NephCure walk to help raise money to support the research into a cure for nephrotic syndrome and FSGS. These are two kidney diseases that have no FDA-approved drugs to provide treatment.

Nephrotic syndrome is the disease that Tater has struggled with since she was almost two years old. She relapses about every three to four months and must take steroids to control her swelling. She takes an anti-rejection drug daily that is being used off-label because there is no drug approved by the FDA to help her.

This walk was to raise funds to support research for these specific diseases and hopefully lead to a cure.

We are so thankful to all our friends and family who pitched in and gave so generously! If you'd still like to donate, click the widget on the sidebar...we are still collecting!

Meanwhile, here is our day in pictures!

Tater loved the bounce house!

Sassy smiles!

Even Bruiser handled the crowds fairly well.

Doughnuts cheered everyone up!

I love that Bruiser ate the chocolate off first...

...and left most of it on his face!

There is the star of the day!

Bruiser loved climbing on the rocks in the park.

Sassy...

...sassier...

...sassy cuteness...

...and the sassiest!

Bruiser waiting to "walk"...

...and Tater not so happy about waiting!

Tater holding the ribbon they cut to start the walk!

Big job!

Bruiser walking!

Listening to some tunes while we walked/hiked!
(Side Note - the path almost all uphill with several steep downhills!)

Daddy and the kids

Yes, I was there, too!

And Sassy ended the day with a bounce and a slide with her sister!

Again...
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT!
WE KNOW YOU LOVE TATER AND WE LOVE YOU ALL!
