And he's still not a fan of the whole picture thing!

At two months, Bubba:
  • Weighs 8lbs 4oz...finally!
  • Is exclusively breast feeding every 2-3 hours
  • Wiggles to his side to sleep
  • Wears Pampers Swaddlers size 1 and occasionally our cloth newborn diapers(too tiny for most of our cloth diapers yet!)
  • Wears size 0-3 clothes and some newborn ones yet too (finally!)
  • Loves his Nuk that big sister, Sassy, picked out for him!
  • Had to use a nebulizer for his nasty cold :(
  • Does not like to lay flat...still!
  • Is not a fan of his carseat...still
  • has learned how to cry to be noticed...an important skill in this house!
  • started smiling...but you really have to work for it!
  • had his first 3 shots :(

April - The Month of Bubba!

We ended March with Bruiser's virus, Easter weekend, and the start of Mommy's maternity leave.

I worked as long as I could but the stress of my job and our busy family just took a toll on me and my blood pressure!  Sassy and I spent a lovely week at home enjoying some quiet time and resting.
Pop-Pop arrived to help us out a bit the same day the doctor sent me for some blood work to check things out.  The next day he made the call to induce me for blood pressure concerns and Pop-Pop took on 3 kids all on his own!  Brave man!

Bubba was born after a rough, looooong nine months...2 weeks and 4 days early :).

Bubba came into the world at 1:14 pm and around 5:00 pm Tater decided to be bounced over the net on the trampoline (on Pop-Pop's watch, no less!) and Daddy had to meet her at the children's hospital for 3 stitches.  Never a dull moment!

Bubba had a beautiful first night and second day.  He was super-sleepy and loved to snuggle.
As we approached that time on Friday when they decide to release you, he began to get a yellow tinge.  Blood work was ordered and it was debated whether we would be going home or staying for some photo therapy.  He was borderline but got his walking papers and an order to see the pediatrician the very next morning. So Saturday morning, Pop-Pop took Tater and Bruiser to pick up Memaw, who drove halfway to us, and Bruiser got an order for more blood work.

Memaw walked in the house, the doctor called and we headed back to be admitted for photo therapy...all within 10 minutes!  We spent 2 more nights at the hospital, Memaw got a bit of a snuggle in before she left, and thus began our daily doctor and blood work appointments.  At one point the doctor said he had never ordered so many blood tests on a newborn that wasn't a micro-preemie.  At last count he was at 19 pokes :(

Then once his bilirubin number came down, his weight refused to rise...as the doctor said  - he couldn't be trusted!

March 2013 Catch-Up!

We're almost there!  And then you'll be all up-to-date on our busy, crazy life!

We started the month with a visit to a new indoor trampoline park.  Poor Sassy missed the height requirement by centimeters and got sent to toddler land.  I think she secretly enjoyed having Mommy to herself :).

Sassy and Daddy had some quality reading time.

Bruiser had another asthma episode.  Back in September he had his first flair and spent a day in the PICU.  That was considered a one-time episode.  Then we repeated it in February...and spent more time in the hospital.  That one was scarier to see how quickly he went downhill and how long it took for the medicine to work.  So off we marched to the allergist!  He is now considered an extremely serious asthmatic and we have major medicine at home as well as strict detailed plans on when to treat and when to head to the ER.  We have mixed feeling on albuterol...the hyperactivity is killing us all :)

So this was his last ER visit...we gave steroids at home and were able to avoid the PICU this time!

My big girl likes to make her own lunch...and sometimes her brother's!

Then the week-long fever virus hit :(.  The boy was down for the count and it quickly led right into my much-anticipated maternity leave...a few days early!

He bounced back to play outside a bit!

Easter followed the virus and ended with Mommy catching it :(
We spent a very quiet day at home and enjoying our goodies from the bunny.

The kids' school had its annual pasta dinner fundraiser and Sassy took her turn in jail!  Last year we were big winners but this year we just enjoyed ourselves one last time as a family of 5!

And I just loved this shot...so enjoy!

And that was March!
