A Weekend With Family!

This past weekend we traveled to Papa and Mimi's to help celebrate Uncle J's big birthday! Yes, he turned the big 3-0 (today, actually! Happy birthday, J!) His lovely wife planned a surprise party for him at my parents' house and the kids couldn't have been more excited. Needless to say, this birthday party went much better than the last one we had at Papa's house!

Then on Sunday, Daddy's parents came to visit and see the little ones. They enjoyed some pond exploring and some cuddling!

Then Monday we took our time heading home, making several stops along the way. These were at a great beach we found along the way!

This was the perfect end to a busy weekend!

We came home relaxed and ready for fall!

I Need A Vacation From My Life!

And, surprisingly, we are healthy!

We have been SUPER busy! We had weekend guests last weekend, traveled to Papa and Mimi's this week, completely overwhelmed (notice, not "underwhelmed" or just "whelmed"!) with work and school and therapies, and still trying to keep up with the every day stuff!


I have lots of pictures to share, lots of stories to tell, and lots of memories to record! But tonight? I'm heading to the couch to veg...after I clean up the kitchen from our late dinner after our 8-hour drive today!


In the meantime, pop on over the Dana's Dirtworks to catch up on our outings from last weekend!

Sassy On Film!

Sassy spent Sunday sleeping on me and beside me with a nice high fever and a sad, sad face! She is slowly bouncing back...but still sleeping lots and cuddling even more!
Our friends got her an early birthday gift...brownie cooking kit (my favorite) and her own apron (her favorite). Love her "cheese" face here! Oh, and the apron? She insisted on wearing it to dance class last night!

Randomness!

We are back in full school mode, fall craziness, and...wait for it!...sicknesses! Life in our house! Tater had a fever last night and is puffy today...which means a relapse of her kidney disease. Bruiser has that allergy sniff, face wipe, barky cough thing...and we are heading to the doctor today for it. And Sassy? She has yet to start physical therapy for her hips and has been wearing her braces for 4 months. The result? Muscle weakness is starting in her legs...so we've been working to fix one problem and are causing another. Great. So, now that is fall, we are falling apart!

But on to happier thoughts! Our good friends are arriving from Texas this evening for a weekend of fall fun and lots of catching up. We can't wait!

Tater had her first week of real homework and was thrilled to be a big girl! I think she also enjoyed the one-on-one time with Mama...a rarity in our house!

Boys and Dirt!

Our friend has harvested her enormous garden and the dirt that remained has been turned into the neighborhood "dirt box." Who needs a sandbox when you can make dirt angels...and yes, Bruiser did!
