Random Pics!

These are some random pictures that have been on my camera and instead of creating multiple mini-posts, I decided to make a collection of the randomness (is that a word?).

Bruiser and Mimi took a ride on the carousel...can you find them?

Papa and his girl walking on Secret Beach

Taking a break on Secret Beach. The tide was so low this day!
We walked the farthest we ever have on Secret Beach.

Mommy chasing her duckings ... luckily there was no where for them to go!

Bruiser hunting for shells ... must be a bit of Grandma in him!

She played so hard!

Yes, he is licking ketchup off his plate.
Yes, there were five grown-ups watching him.
Yes, we laughed.
Yes, we took a picture!
Tater was decorating Pop-Pop with napkin pieces ... they were even in his ears!

Bruiser learned how to open his bedroom door! It was a sad day for Mommy!
This is how he spent the hour and a half before Tater woke up.
He loved playing with the Little People camping set (Thank You, Mimi and Papa)!
Tater and Mommy had a "Girls' Night" last night.
We got dressed up, went out to dinner where the animals on the wall talked, and then went to the Dollar Tree so Tater could spend her own money (with some guidance from Mommy!).

Daddy claims Shadow isn't allowed to sit on people's laps and be on the couch.
This is what I discovered when Daddy fell asleep on the couch the other night!

Still Waiting...

We are still waiting for baptism pictures from Papa...any day now! Here are a few I got from our good friends.

G-baby's cake was beautiful and yummy! I think she even got to taste a bit of the icing thanks to Papa. It was retaliation for Daddy giving her her first taste of ice cream the night before ... after everyone went to the hotel for the night!

Tater loved the party...but when doesn't she like to party! She had been looking forward to this day for at least a month and even opted to skip Kids' Club (aka Sunday School) so she wouldn't miss anything! I'm not sure I saw much of her throughout the day but I frequently heard her giggle!

There is more about G-Baby's day on our friend's blog at Dana's Dirtworks. Stop by for a peek!

Here We Go Again...

Tater goes through these stages when she comes out with the most hilarious comments...this must be one of those times!

Last night at dinner, she was angry with me because I told her what I served was dinner and that she could not have anything else until she ate what I gave her.

Tater: "I want a new Momma. You're not nice to me and I want a new Momma."
Momma: "Too bad the store is all out of new Mommas. I guess you're stuck with me.
Eat your dinner!"
Tater: "Well, then Mimi has to have a new daughter...one I like!"

Interesting thought, huh, Mimi?

Quote of the Day

Last night we put Taters to bed and she fussed for a bit...Papa had spoiled her by going to bed WITH her each night! So finally I went upstairs to see what the problem was and she said she had to go potty. This was the conversation that followed:

"I called you like TWELVE times, Momma! You know, it's really hard being 4...it was much easier being 3!"

Oh, the things we have seen and captured for prosperity!

Pending...

We had an amazing but busy weekend! G-Baby was baptised and we were surrounded by faithful family and great friends. I can't wait to post a few pics and share about the stress of having a baptism when the older children have escaped from the nursery...before the sermon begins! Here's the catch: I have no pictures! The previously-mentioned activities tied up my hands and inhibited me from snapping some shots! So, as soon as I receive pictures from my neighbor and from Papa, I will post them!

Oh, and then there is the recital picture production - waiting for more pictures! And there are stories to tell!

Stay tuned!

What I Learned Ths Week

1. I learned that you CAN teach all morning, manage the preschool run, follow your son through early intervention, do the preschool pick-up, make dinner, haul all three kids to dance class, and attend a church meeting...all on an hour of sleep (I think anyway...I'll let you know tomorrow!).

2. I learned that there are times as a parent that you will actually root AGAINST your child! Bruiser failed his speech evaluation today which qualifies him for more therapy and I actually cheered! You moms can understand - when your children need something (and Bruiser needs help with his talking!), you want to do everything to help them - including wishing and praying with all your might that they fail! I guess it falls under the same category of when you take your child to the doctor and you are praying that he has an ear infection so it is a justified visit...you understand!

3. I rediscovered the sweet innocence of seeing your baby baptised and blessed in the eyes of God - even when your older children are screaming and running all around you.

4. I learned there is nothing sadder than having to pry your four-year-old off her Papa when its time for him to leave and then having to listen to her scream at the door "I need my Poppy!"

5. I learned how wonderful it is to have friends that know just what you need and when you need it.

6. I learned that I can stand strong in my faith and I can support my beliefs and that I can surround myself with others who have the same faith and beliefs.

7. I learned that it is a lot easier to be a dedicated kindergarten teacher when you are not pregnant...even when you only got one hour of sleep the night before!

8. And I have re-affirmed that there is no better job than being a mommy!
