A Winter Day at the Beach

Daddy had heard of a new-to-us beach to check out. It's a beach that you can park right at the sand/rocks. Every parent who has ever hauled cart-loads of supplies dream, right? So we took advantage of a free Sunday afternoon and temperatures above freezing to take a drive and check it out. Totally spur of the moment...in that we started driving as I googled the location to get the correct name and then hurried to enter it in the GPS...thank God for technology and smart phones :)

I probably should have checked the weather for wind predictions...because even though it wasn't super-cold, it was quite blustery! The waves were AMAZING! And the kids had a blast exploring and talking about summer and a return trip!

Happy 7th Birthday, Bruiser!

Seven years ago today our little family of 3 grew to 4 :). We were so thrilled to add a little boy to our crew! You were our chunkiest baby but by far the easiest delivery...you entered the world with Mommy laughing!

The years that have followed have been filled with snuggles and cuddles and giggles. You taught us to love in a way that only parents truly can. There is nothing better than breathing in your sweet sweaty head, seeing that thumb slip in your mouth when you need a bit of comfort, or feeling your hand slip in mine when you need Mommy to guide you.

You've done everything at your own pace and in your own individual way...and we wouldn't ask for it to be any other way! I've memorized every blond hair on your head, gazed deep into those unbelievable hazel eyes, and spent years trying to unlock the mysteries of your mind. What I do know is that you love openly, throw yourself whole hearted into everything you love, and will always need Mommy and a Taggie ;)

Where Have the Years Gone???

Bruiser turns 7 tomorrow...7!!! Not sure how that happened...and, no, we didn't agree to it!!!

I was a little choked up saying good night to this 6-year-old one last time...

And then he asked to wear a tie to school for his special day...

And his birthday trap has been set ;).

Tomorrow will fly by but there will be many moments to pause and think about that day 7 years ago that my heart grew a little bigger as we welcomed our first little boy into our family!

2014...Welcome Back!
